At the end of the 2006-2007 season, we said "good bye" to three of our coaches. Ryan Hardin was our head coach for the 2006 and 2007 season. Ryan graduated from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, a Division 3 college team, where he started attack all 4 years. Larry Tilley, who has been one of our coaches and supporters for the past four years. Larry has graduated from UT and is moving to Richmond, VA. Matt Wardian, a long time coach for WKHS, has left the team due to work commitments which has increased his travel requirements. We wish them all best wishes for their endeavors in the future!!!

Ryan Hardin was the Head Coach for the West Knoxville High School Warriors lacrosse team. Ryan grew up outside Philadelphia in Broomall, PA and played high school lacrosse for Friends Central, where he started attack all 4 years and was MVP his senior year. He attended Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, a Division 3 college team, started attack all 4 years. Ryan married his wife Laura in July 2003 and moved to Santiago Chile in August 2003 for a 2-year position as the youth minister for an English-speaking church. He moved back to the US in the summer of 2005. The Hardin’s son Caleb was born July 3, 2005. The family then moved to Knoxville in September 2005 where Ryan took the position of the Director of Ministry to Youth and their families. Ryan began volunteering with the Warriors in January 2006 and assumed the head coach position for the 2006-2007 season.

Larry Tilley was the Offensive Coach for the West Knoxville High School Warriors lacrosse team. Larry grew up in Durham, NC. He played lacrosse for Broaden Middle School in 7-8th grade, and went on to play for Riverside High School. During his years with Riverside, the team won state titles in l998, l999, and 2001. Larry played attack for the UT team for 4 years. He was the assistant coach for both the Warriors and the UT team.

Matt Wardian was the Goalie/Defensive Coach for the West Knoxville High School Warriors lacrosse team. Matt was raised in Oakton, Virginia and played lacrosse for Oakton High School. He attended Washington College in Chestertown, MD, where he played goalie for their club lacrosse team. He graduated in l998 with a degree in Political Science. Matt moved to Knoxville in 2002, and works for Scripps Network as a technical project manager.

2005 - 2006 GAME STANDINGS

The WKHS Warriors finished the 2005 - 2006 season with a record of 8 wins and 2 losses. The JV team lost a game against McCallie. We were the eastern region Division 2 champions last year (2005-2006) and advanced to the Division 2 semi-finals in Nashville.

At the end of the 2005-2006 season, we said "good bye" to two of our coaches, Brad Pruitt and Nish Patel. Brad returned to VMI for his junior year. Nish was tranferred as part of his job as a manager at Fuddruckers to Ashville, NC.

Brad Pruitt was the head coach for the West Knoxville High School Warriors lacrosse team. Brad grew up in Knoxville and played 2 years for the “original” West Knox team (a team that existed 3 years before the current team was created). He moved to Winston-Salem, NC and played midfield his junior and senior years in high school for Mt Tabor High School., where he was an All-State player. He was recruited by Virginia Military Institute (Division I lacrosse) and has played attack for them for 2 years.

Nish Patel was the assistant coach for the West Knoxville High School Warriors lacrosse team. This is Nish Patel’s third season with the Warriors. Nish attended Farragut High School and played lacrosse for Farragut from 1996-2000. He was the starting goalie in 2000 when Farragut won the State Title for Division 2 lacrosse. Nish graduated from UT in December 2004 with a degree in Marketing and Logistics and is employed by Fuddruckers as a manager and Director of Marketing.
