Warrior Lacrosse General Information ATTENDANCE AND CONDUCT RULES

ATTENDANCE: Players must attend every scheduled practice. Exceptions will be made for family emergencies. Either coach must be notified immediately if you are going to miss practice. If you do not contact a coach and do not show up you could be benched for a game.

Spring practice begins at 5:30 PM. This means you are present and in full gear ready to go at 5:15 PM It is a good idea to arrive at early to get ready for practice. When you know you are going to be late or are running behind, you must contact a coach and notify him. If you are late but did not let a coach know, after the 1st incident you will be benched for 1 quarter. Practice the day before a game is absolutely critical. If you miss a practice the day before a game, you will not play in the first quarter of the game.

Spring practice ends at 7:30 PM unless otherwise notified. Being a part of this team means that you are committing to be present at every practice. We need you to be there for every minute of those practice times in order to improve as an individual and as a team. This also means that we want your full attention for the entire time. We are done at 7:30 — that is when you can focus on other things.

CONDUCT: Players will refrain from using obscenities. No fighting will be permitted between players. If a fight breaks out on the field all players must remain on the bench. Anyone who gets in a fight in practice will be appropriately disciplined. If a player is involved in a fight during a game, they will be suspended for that game and the next. Players will respect the grounds we are practicing on and will discard drink bottles and trash in an appropriate manner. When using opponent’s locker rooms, we will leave them the way we found them.

No alcohol, tobacco or drug use will be tolerated. If you show up to practice or games under the influence of drugs or alcohol, you will be suspended from the team indefinitely, and a parent will be contacted to come and pick you up. Even if you are 18 years of age, you will not be permitted to use any tobacco products while at practice, games, or trips to away games. This is an NCAA rule.

Players will not be allowed to drive themselves to away games, even if they are 18. This is our team policy.

In general, friends of players are not to attend practices. This helps avoid any distractions for players or coaches.

This is a club team, but we treat it as a varsity sport.
